27 Years Post-Op Hair Transplant Results with Dr. Cole

This is an interesting case because there are very few cases consisting of large total follicular unit procedures dating back to 1994. Large sessions of follicular units were not performed prior to late 1992. This is when the first sessions of 1000 grafts were performed. This case demonstrates the longevity of mega sessions of follicular units over time. At the time of this posting, the result is 27 years old, still provides coverage, and looks natural. This patient presented as an early Norwood six pattern in his early thirties. The patient underwent four mega sessions consisting of over 1000 follicular units followed up by some small touch-up procedures over the following six years. At the time he underwent his first mega session, his procedure was one of the first of its kind globally. Dr. Cole was one of the first to adopt total follicular unit transplantation and the first to perform FUE successfully after Dr. Ray Woods pioneered the technique. He is returning to add some hair along his part line, which is thinning due to the natural progression of hair loss. His donor area has nearly reached its maximal limit so he will need to maintain with regenerative medicine and eventually move to beard hair should he need more coverage. Thinning along the lateral margins and the lower crown area is certain to happen over time. This progression underscores the need for regenerative medicine to maintain the hair you have.
