Dr Bonaros, Glasgow, Scotland / Hair Transplant result / 1750 FUE grafts

This young patient, 27 years old, underwent a hair transplant procedure with 1750 grafts, equating to 4507 hairs, to restore his frontal scalp.

Graft breakdown: 1-Hair FUs: 121 grafts -- 121 hairs 2- Hair FUs: 670 grafts -- 1340 hairs 3-Hair FUs: 790 grafts -- 2370 hairs 4-Hair FUs: 169 grafts -- 676 hairs
A number of factors were considered when determining the hairline position including the shape of his face, the current and anticipated stage of balding, the type of hair, and the amount of permanent hair in the donor area. Due to his young age and likelihood of extensive hair loss later in life, the shape and position of his hairline had to account for the fact that as he ages, future procedures may be required to fill in areas behind the hairline created now. Therefore, a low hairline would require more grafts, compromising his donor area and limiting his ability to undergo future procedures for the mid-scalp and crown. By choosing a high frontal hairline with a degree of temporal recession, we believe we have struck the right balance between natural-looking, age-appropriate results and proper management of the donor area.

The following photos show the recipient area immediately before and after, and then 10 days, three months, and six months after the procedure.

With regards to harvesting, the long-term goal is to obtain the maximum lifetime donor grafts with FUE, so we avoided overharvesting and homogenized the appearance of the donor area.
