The hair from the donor area is removed together with the skin in a thick strip. After the hair follicles are separated from the skin tissues under the microscope, they are transplanted into the balding area one by one in strips. Generally, the scalp piece taken can be 10-15 mm wide and 25-30 cm long depending on the distance between the two ears. After the hair follicles are obtained, this area needs to be stitched. After the operation, 8-10 cm scar remains in the stitched area. It is seen advantageous because of the excess hair follicles being transplanted at one time. However, FUT is not a preferred method among hair transplantation methods due to both a painful process and the scarring afterwards.
